Developing an Interface For Skin Disease Prediction
نویسندگان
چکیده
Current diagnosis of children with skin diseases is very difficult. Symptoms can appear with multiple diseases and symptoms can vary from case to case. Because of these issues, doctors tend to have tunnel vision when they are doing diagnosis. This tunnel vision presents itself when the doctor spots one symptom, and immediately starts to work in the direction of this disease, the doctor looks for symptoms that are common with the disease. This tunnel vision makes him overlook certain things, and he can end up with a wrong diagnosis. To support a doctor when he’s examining a child with a skin disease, a Bayesian network can help the doctor by calculating probabilities of the diseases when it’s given evidence for certain symptoms and/or other knowledge about the patient and it’s history. Because working with a real Bayesian network is to difficult and time consuming for the doctor, an interface is needed. The interface can guide the doctor through the questions, which avoids the tunnel vision problem. An approach to interface development and an initial implementation that deals with this problem was developed.

A More Accurate Prediction of Liquid Evaporation Flux
In this work, a more accurate prediction of liquid evaporation flux has been achieved. The statistical rate theory approach, which is recently introduced by Ward and Fang and exact estimation of vapor pressure in the layer adjacent to the liquid–vapor interface have been used for prediction of this flux. Firstly, the existence of an equilibrium layer adjacent to the liquid-vapor interface ...
متن کاملB and T-Cell Epitope Prediction of the OMP25 Antigen for Developing Brucella melitensis Vaccines for Sheep
Brucellosis, produced by Brucella species, is a disease that causes severe economic losses for livestock farms worldwide Due to serious economic and medical consequences of this disease, many efforts have been made to prevent the infection through the use of recombinant vaccines based on Brucella outer membrane protein (OMP) antigens. In the present study, a wide range of on-line prediction sof...

ntroduction: Leprosy is an infectious disease which primarily affect skin and peripheral nerves. Mycobacterium leprae and Mycobacterium lepromatosis that are the acid-fast bacillus are known to be cause of leprosy. Genetic factors and immunological function have some roles in susceptibility of developing leprosy. There are some cases of familial leprosy. Case Report: Here in, we report a cas...

Background and Aim: Leishmaniasis is a parasitic disease transmitted by sandflies and is one of the endemic diseases of Iran. With the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic worldwide, the virus will interface with endemic infectious diseases in different regions. In this study, coronavirus disease was evaluated in patients with a history of leishmaniasis referred to the Center of Research and Trainin...
متن کاملMoving Three Collinear Griffith Cracks at Orthotropic Interface
This work deals with the interaction of P-waves between a moving central crack and a pair of outer cracks situated at the interface of an orthotropic layer and an elastic half-space. Initially, we considered a two-dimensional elastic wave equation in orthotropic medium. The Fourier transform has been applied to convert the basic problem to solve the set of four integral equations. These set of ...
